FROM among the gifts which Ryan Agoncillo has given her, so far, Judy Ann Santos considers the pendant as the most important and precious. He gave her the pendant three years ago on her birthday.

In their three years as sweethearts, they have exchanged a lot of gifts. Ryan, for his part, remembered it was a camera he received from Judy Ann for the first time.

The vintage camera is quite expensive, which camera buff Ryan wanted to own for quite sometime. In fact, he was saving for it.

Last Christmas, Judy Ann gave Ryan a number of gifts including a Nintendo. Would you believe, a Nintendo? We asked Judy Ann why.

"Kasi iisa lang ang aming Nintendo," Judy Ann reasoned. "Kaya nagiging cause of argument namin ito, kapag gusto naming maglaro na dalawa.

"Kaya hayan, ngayon na mayroon na rin siyang kanya, peace be with you na ang drama namin when we play the game," Judy Ann said laughing

Jake Cuenca gets his biggest break ever as the other Palos in ABS- CBN’s newest action teleserye, "Palos." The series marks his first time to co-star with a big action star like Cesar Montano.

For him to be able to concentrate on his first action role, Jake had to give up some shows, including the sitcom, "That’s My Doc," where he plays the son of Roderick Paulate.

"Matagal kong pinangarap ang makagawa ng isang action series. Now that it is finality realized, I’m willing to give my all to it," stated Jake.

"Palos" was a popular komiks character in the ‘60s, which then action hero Bernard Bonnin popularized in films. He made about eight movies of it.

Known as the protector of the people, everyone expects him to bring justice to the oppressed. He is known to be skillful in battle. His enemies never had the chance to capture him.

Cesar, for his part, said he had always wanted to do "Palos," especially during the time when action films were still proliferating. He approached Bernard, who declined his offer to purchase the rights to do a movie on "Palos."

"At that time, I think," said Direk Toto Natividad, "Mr. Bonnin still had plans to do a ‘Palos’ movie with him still playing the title role.

"Pero, kung natuloy sana ang planong ‘yon ni Buboy (Cesar’s pet name), I would have directed it."

Also directing the series with Direk Natividad are Erick Salud and Trina Dayrit. Both Cesar and Jake, with the directors’ guidance, were able to show not only their acting abilities but also their skills in doing stunts and action scenes.

In the first episode of "Palos," which premieres tonight (January 28), the scenes shot in Macau will be shown.

Bangs Garcia, a "Close-Up to Fame" finalist from Davao City, is expected to make a statement in her role as a lady agent and leading lady to Jake (Cuenca) in "Palos." Already, her torrid kissing scenes with Jake are being talked about. She’s not afraid to show some flesh as she shares scenes with Jake, for as long as it’s necessary. Even the skimpy outfits which she wears in "Palos" will surely be talked about.

Is Bangs aware that because of her extra aggressiveness, Jake’s real-life sweetheart, Roxanne Guinoo, who also appears in "Palos," is threatened by her? Roxanne referred to Bangs, in an interview with the talk program, "The Buzz," as "that girl," when she was asked what she thinks of Bangs.

"Maniwala man o hindi si Roxanne, I’m harmless. Kung anuman ang ipinakita naming boldness ni Jake sa ‘Palos,’ iyon ay dahil the scenes called for it," she remarked honestly. "I assure Roxanne, I like her and I want her to be my friend."
